WhatsApp Business API pricing in Saudi Arabia: the two parts of your bill

When Saudi businesses research WhatsApp Business API pricing, they usually find two kinds of numbers mixed together: what a software provider charges each month, and what Meta charges per message. With NextReply the two stay separate and easy to read.

  1. Your NextReply plan, a flat monthly price of $29, $59 or $99 that covers the AI receptionist, Arabic and English replies, voice notes, Google Calendar booking and human handoff. It is sized by bookings per month, not by agents or messages.
  2. Meta's message fees, which Meta charges for certain WhatsApp messages your business starts, such as campaign templates. They are set by Meta for Saudi numbers and change from time to time.

Below you will find both, plus how paying in US dollars works and which plan suits which kind of Saudi business. If you are new to NextReply, the Saudi overview explains what the assistant does day to day.

What Meta charges for WhatsApp messages to Saudi numbers

Meta runs the WhatsApp Business Platform and sets its own prices. Since 1 July 2025 it charges per delivered template message, by category:

  • Marketing templates: promotions, offers, reactivation campaigns. The highest rate.
  • Utility templates: booking updates and notices sent outside an open chat.
  • Authentication templates: one-time codes. NextReply does not use these for bookings.

When a customer messages you first, a 24-hour customer-service window opens and the assistant replies inside it. Those service replies are free under Meta's current pricing, as are utility templates sent inside the window; for templates sent outside it, check the current Saudi rate on Meta's official pricing page before you plan a budget.

Rates depend on the recipient's country code. A template to a +966 number is billed at the Saudi rate; a template to a visitor's foreign number is billed at that country's rate. For a cross-Gulf view in local currencies, read our article on WhatsApp API costs across the GCC.

A worked month for a Riyadh medical complex

Picture a medical complex in Al Yasmin with dermatology, dental and paediatric clinics. In a typical month:

  • About 2,000 patients and parents message on WhatsApp, mostly asking times, prices and locations.
  • Around 900 of those chats end in a booking.
  • Each booking is confirmed in writing inside the same chat the patient started.

That volume sits inside the Pro plan (up to 1,500 bookings), at $59 a month. On Meta's side, the service replies and booking confirmations inside the 24-hour window are free; Meta fees only appear if the complex sends business-started templates such as campaigns. When NextReply's appointment reminders launch (coming soon), they will be utility templates billed per message at the Saudi rate. Questions that do not end in a booking do not count against the plan.

If the same complex opened a second branch in Jeddah and doubled its bookings, Business would remove the cap and send every booking to its patient CRM through a webhook.

Costs you will not see on the invoice

A fair price comparison includes what a tool saves you from paying. With NextReply there is no developer fee to build the bot, no server or hosting bill, no maintenance retainer when Meta updates its API, and no per-seat charge when a new receptionist joins. The team logs into one account, and the plan price stays the same whether three or thirteen people read the bookings.

Compare that with a custom bot built by a freelancer. The first quote often looks lower than a year of subscription, but you also pay for hosting, fixes and changes every time your services or hours move. And if the developer moves on, nobody may know how the bot works.

Ramadan and the weeks before Eid are the peak for salons and clinics in the Kingdom. If you are near a limit, choose the plan that covers that month.

Budgeting for Ramadan and Eid campaigns

Opt-in campaigns are coming soon on NextReply, and they are where Meta fees add up, so plan them before the season. A salon that sends a pre-Eid offer to 3,000 opted-in clients pays Meta's Saudi marketing rate on each delivered message. Two habits keep that cost sensible:

  • Send to the right people. Target clients who booked in the last six months rather than every number you have ever saved.
  • Make the message bookable. When a client replies "I want Thursday", the assistant takes over in the chat and books the slot, so each paid message has the best chance of becoming a booking.

Utility messages, such as booking updates, are a separate and usually lower-priced category. Marketing messages only go to customers who have agreed to receive them.

Paying in US dollars, taxes and invoices

Prices are in US dollars. At checkout, your card or bank may show an estimate in your local currency, and the riyal amount on your statement depends on your bank's rate. Local taxes may apply, and how they are treated on a foreign software subscription depends on your registration, so ask your accountant how to record it.

Your invoice lists the plan and the billing period. If your finance team needs particular details on it, such as your company name in Arabic or a purchase-order reference, email hello@nextreply.io or contact us before your first payment; existing customers can reach support@nextreply.io.

Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and stop at the end of the paid period; we don't refund partial months unless the law requires it.

Instagram and Messenger chatbot pricing: coming soon

Many Saudi customers find you on Instagram first. NextReply runs on WhatsApp today, on every plan. Instagram DMs, Facebook Messenger and Telegram are coming soon and will share one calendar and one set of answers with WhatsApp; we will publish how they fit the plans when they launch. On the platform side, Meta does not bill per message for Instagram or Messenger replies, but it limits business replies to 24 hours after the customer's last message. Telegram has no message fee; the customer simply has to start the chat. Until then, a WhatsApp link in your Instagram bio sends followers to the assistant that already books. Email hello@nextreply.io to hear when each channel goes live, and read the channels overview for the rules of each.

How NextReply compares on cost

Saudi buyers tend to compare three routes: a freelance developer who builds a custom WhatsApp and Google Calendar bot, a broadcast-focused WhatsApp platform priced per agent, or the free tools in the WhatsApp Business app. Each has a place. Our tool comparison, the broadcast platform alternative page and the Meta Business AI comparison go through booking features and price line by line. You keep your number either way thanks to WhatsApp Coexistence.

Questions people ask

Are your prices in Saudi riyals?

No. Prices are $29, $59 and $99 a month in US dollars, the same in every country. At checkout, your card or bank may show an estimate in riyals. Local taxes may apply.

Do I pay WhatsApp (Meta) fees on top of the plan?

Yes, for some messages. Meta bills template messages your business starts, such as campaigns, per message, while replies inside the 24-hour customer-service window are free. Check Meta's pricing page for current Saudi rates.

Is Arabic included on every plan?

Yes. Arabic and English replies, plus any other language your customers use, are included from Starter upwards.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every plan, Starter, Pro and Business, starts with a 7-day free trial. Connect WhatsApp, add your services and hours, and let the assistant book real customers before your first payment.

Is a WhatsApp AI receptionist allowed in Saudi Arabia in 2026?

Yes. Meta's terms bar general-purpose AI chatbots, but business assistants for bookings and customer service with human handoff are allowed, and that is what NextReply is.

Do enquiries that do not book count towards my limit?

No. Only bookings the assistant creates count. Answering questions about prices, location or parking does not use up your plan.

Is there a long-term contract?

Plans are monthly. You can change plan as your booking volume changes, for example moving up for Ramadan and back down afterwards.

Do I pay extra for more staff logins?

No. NextReply does not charge per agent or per seat. The plan price is set by bookings per month.
