Built around the Saudi working day

Most Saudi private businesses work Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday as the weekend, although salons, clinics and restaurants often open on weekends too. Many still run a split day: a morning shift, a break in the afternoon, then an evening shift that stays busy until late. Customers expect to book at 10pm on a Wednesday as naturally as at 10am.

NextReply follows the hours you set for each day, including breaks. Some typical settings:

  • Morning and evening shifts with a gap between them
  • Short pauses around prayer times if your business closes for prayer
  • Separate Friday hours that start after Jumu'ah
  • A full Ramadan timetable, with late opening and late-night hours after taraweeh
  • Closures for Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and Saudi National Day

Outside those hours the assistant still answers questions and books the next open slot, so a customer who messages after closing gets a confirmed appointment instead of silence.

What a WhatsApp chatbot in Saudi Arabia should do for a service business

NextReply is a WhatsApp chatbot for Saudi Arabia's service businesses that works like a trained receptionist: it replies to every customer in Arabic or English within seconds, offers real free times, books the appointment into Google Calendar and passes anything sensitive to your staff. It runs around the clock, including the late evenings when Saudi customers are most active.

This English page is for expat-run companies, English-speaking managers and teams who search in English. If you or your customers prefer Arabic, the Arabic Saudi page covers the same product in Arabic.

In the Kingdom, WhatsApp is often the first and only way a customer contacts a salon, a medical complex or a car workshop. Freelancers sell custom-built WhatsApp booking bots for exactly this reason. NextReply gives you the same result as a monthly subscription, with no developer to hire and no code to maintain.

Arabic first, with Saudi dialect and voice notes understood

Saudi customers rarely write formal Arabic on WhatsApp. They write the way they speak: "ابغى احجز بكرة العصر" or "وش المواعيد المتاحة؟", mix in English words, or send a voice note from the car. The assistant understands everyday Saudi Arabic, Najdi and Hijazi phrasing included, and replies in clear, polite Arabic that suits a business.

Your customer base is rarely only Saudi. Home-services, workshop and clinic customers in Riyadh and Jeddah may write in Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Tagalog or English. NextReply answers each person in their own language without you setting anything up per language.

  • Voice notes sent on WhatsApp in Arabic or English are understood and answered in text
  • WhatsApp photos are read too, for example a picture of a car's damage or a nail design
  • Your staff can read every booking in the language they work in
Replies in each customer’s language
  1. مرحبا، عندكم موعد؟ / Olá, tem horário? / Hola, ¿hay cita? / Hi, any slots?
  2. Detects the language: From a WhatsApp text or voice note
  3. Replies in that language: You set it up once

An AI receptionist for Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar businesses

Ladies' salons and beauty centres

Ladies' salons (مشغل نسائي) in Olaya, around Tahlia Street or in north Riyadh districts such as Al Malqa and Hittin take many bookings by WhatsApp, often for groups before weddings and Eid. The assistant books each service, handles group requests and keeps conversations discreet. You decide exactly which details it collects.

Medical complexes and dental clinics

A medical complex (مجمع طبي) has several specialties, each with its own doctors and timetables. NextReply books by specialty and by doctor, answers practical questions such as location, parking and whether a referral is needed, and never gives medical advice. Read the medical clinics page for the handoff rules.

Workshops, car washes and home services

Car service centres, mobile car washes and AC maintenance teams across Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam get photo-heavy requests. A customer sends a photo of a leaking unit or a scratched bumper, and the assistant picks the right service and books a visit.

Gyms, academies and restaurants

Trial sessions, private training, tutoring classes and table bookings all follow the same pattern. The assistant handles each with the same booking engine and your own questions.

Late evenings, Thursday nights and the summer rush

Saudi customer behaviour has a clear rhythm. Demand climbs after sunset, peaks between 9pm and midnight, and jumps again on Thursday and Saturday evenings. In summer, when daytime temperatures in Riyadh pass 45°C, even more errands move into the night. A front desk that closes at 10pm misses the busiest part of the day.

Here is what an evening often looks like for a beauty centre in Jeddah's Al Rawdah district: a dozen messages between 10pm and 1am, mostly the same five questions (price, availability, which specialist, location, parking), plus three or four people who are ready to book now. The AI answers all of them at once, books the ready ones and leaves your team a short list of chats that need a person in the morning.

The same applies to medical complexes near King Fahad Medical City or car workshops on the industrial roads of Dammam. Customers do not want to call; they want to send a message and get a time. If late-night messages are where you lose the most, read our page on after-hours replies.

How a customer message becomes a booking

  1. A customer messages your WhatsApp number, typed or by voice note.
  2. The assistant works out the service, preferred day and time.
  3. It checks your Google Calendar and offers only times that are free for the right staff member.
  4. It collects the name and any details you require, then books.
  5. The customer gets a confirmation in the chat and you get an instant notification.

Bookings land in the same calendar your team already uses, so there is no second system to check. The appointment booking page covers rules such as service length, buffers and staff assignment, and the Google Calendar page explains how double-booking is prevented.

From first message to confirmed booking
  1. Customer message: “Any slot tomorrow afternoon?”
  2. AI receptionist: Reads service, date and time
  3. Checks your calendar: Offers only free slots
  4. Confirms in the chat: Name, service and time
  5. Booked: In Google Calendar, owner alerted

Why away messages and quick replies are not enough

The WhatsApp Business app already has an away message, a greeting and quick replies. They help, but they cannot finish the job. An away message tells a customer you are closed; it does not offer Sunday at 4:30pm and book it. Quick replies need a person to tap them. Meta's own AI features in the app can answer simple questions, but they do not check your staff calendars or create a booking.

A customer who receives "We are closed, we will reply tomorrow" at 11pm often messages a competitor next. A customer who receives three available times and a confirmation has nowhere else to go. That difference is why owners move from canned replies to an assistant that books.

NextReply also keeps the details straight. It remembers the service, the staff member and the time within the conversation, asks for anything missing and writes it all into the calendar entry, so nobody retypes a booking from a chat screenshot. Every capability is listed on the feature overview.

Keep your number and the WhatsApp Business app

Your WhatsApp number is printed on signs, Google Maps and years of customer phones. You do not have to change it. NextReply supports WhatsApp Coexistence, Meta's official method for running the WhatsApp Business app and the Business Platform on the same number. Staff keep replying from the app when they want to, and the AI covers the rest. See the Coexistence page for requirements.

  2. Same number: Nothing to delete

WhatsApp today; Instagram, Messenger and Telegram coming soon

Saudi brands live on social media, and many first enquiries come through Instagram DMs. NextReply runs on WhatsApp today, on every plan, and that is where it understands voice notes and photos and books appointments. Instagram, Facebook Messenger and Telegram are coming soon. When they launch, they will use the same services, prices and calendar, so a slot booked from an Instagram DM will be blocked for WhatsApp customers straight away.

  • Instagram and Messenger (coming soon): Meta allows business replies within 24 hours of the customer's last message.
  • Telegram (coming soon): the customer starts the chat with your bot; bots cannot message first.
  • Snapchat and X are not supported channels.

Until then, put a WhatsApp link in your Instagram bio so enquiries reach the assistant that already books. Email hello@nextreply.io to hear when each channel goes live, or read the channels overview.

Saudi PDPL and patient privacy

Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) applies to businesses that collect personal data in the Kingdom, and the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) supervises it. It came into force in September 2023, and enforcement began in September 2024. Healthcare providers also follow Ministry of Health rules on patient information.

NextReply is designed to help you collect less, not more:

  • The assistant asks only for the details a booking needs
  • It does not ask for medical history, ID numbers or payment card details in chat
  • Clinical questions are handed to your staff
  • You control who on your team can read conversations

This is not legal advice. Clinics and larger companies should confirm their own obligations with a qualified adviser.

What to prepare before you go live

Setup takes an afternoon if you have this to hand:

  1. Your service list with durations and the prices you want quoted to customers. If a price depends on assessment, say so and the assistant will offer a consultation instead.
  2. Your staff and who does what: which doctor covers which specialty, which stylist does colour, which technician handles AC units.
  3. Opening hours for each day, shifts and breaks, and the dates you close.
  4. Your FAQs: location and landmarks, parking, payment methods you accept in store, ladies-only or family sections, cancellation policy.
  5. Handoff topics: complaints, refunds, medical questions, corporate bookings, anything you always want a person to answer.

Then message your own number as a customer, try a few awkward requests, adjust the wording and switch it on. The how it works page walks through each step.

Is a WhatsApp AI agent allowed in Saudi Arabia in 2026?

Yes, when it is a business assistant. Since 15 January 2026, Meta's WhatsApp Business Solution Terms bar general-purpose AI chatbots, the kind that will chat about anything. Assistants that perform business tasks such as bookings and customer service remain allowed. NextReply answers only from your business information, books appointments and hands over to people, which is why it fits the rules.

Yes. Meta bars general-purpose AI chatbots. NextReply is a booking and customer-service assistant for your business with human handoff, which is permitted.

Is there a free trial?
