WhatsApp chatbot price in India: what you actually pay

Ask five Indian vendors for a WhatsApp chatbot price and you will get five different shapes of bill: a platform fee, a charge per agent login, AI credits, a markup on Meta's message fees and sometimes a setup charge. Working out the real monthly cost takes a spreadsheet.

NextReply keeps it to two lines. First, one flat monthly plan of $29, $59 or $99, sized by how many bookings the AI makes for you. Second, Meta's own charges for certain WhatsApp messages, which Meta sets and which we explain below. That is it, and every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Every plan includes the AI receptionist, Hindi, Hinglish and English replies, voice-note understanding and Google Calendar booking.

Three flat plans in US dollars

Prices are in US dollars and are the same in every country. At checkout, your card or bank may show an estimate in your local currency, and the rupee amount on your statement depends on your bank's rate and any card fees. Local taxes may apply. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial.

Why there are no per-agent fees

Many WhatsApp platforms in India charge for each team member who logs in. That made sense for sales teams working a shared inbox all day. It makes less sense for a clinic, where the receptionist, the practice manager and the doctor all want to see bookings but the AI does most of the replying.

Here is how the two models compare for a dental clinic with four people who need access:

Cost itemTypical per-seat platformNextReply
Base platform feeYesOne flat plan
Extra agent loginsCharged per userIncluded
AI agent or AI creditsOften a separate add-onIncluded
Calendar bookingOften custom or via a third-party toolIncluded (Google Calendar)
Meta message feesPassed on, sometimes with a markupPaid to Meta at Meta's rates

Your bill does not rise when you hire another receptionist. It rises only if you choose a bigger plan because you are taking more bookings, which is a good problem to have.

Meta's WhatsApp charges, explained in rupees

Meta runs the WhatsApp Business Platform and charges for some messages directly. Since 1 July 2025 the model is per delivered template message, in three main categories:

  • Marketing: festive offers, reactivation campaigns, new-service announcements.
  • Utility: booking updates and follow-up notices sent outside an open chat.
  • Authentication: one-time passwords. NextReply does not use these for bookings.

When a patient or client messages you first, a 24-hour customer-service window opens and the assistant replies inside it. Those replies are free under Meta's current pricing, as are utility templates sent inside the window; templates sent outside it are charged per message, so check the current India rate on Meta's pricing page. Meta has also been moving Indian businesses to rupee billing for WhatsApp; our explainer on Meta's INR billing covers what changes.

For an appointment business, the pattern is predictable. Inbound booking chats are the bulk of the traffic, and the booking confirmation happens inside that free window. When NextReply's appointment reminders launch (coming soon), they will be utility templates, typically one per booking. Marketing campaigns are optional and you decide how many to send. Check the current figures before you plan a large festive campaign, because marketing templates cost more than utility ones.

Taxes, card payments and invoices

Local taxes may apply. How tax on an imported software subscription is handled depends on your registration and your business, so your CA is the right person to confirm the treatment for your firm.

Because prices are in US dollars, you pay with a card that allows international transactions. At checkout, your card or bank may show an estimate in your local currency; the final rupee figure depends on your bank's exchange rate. Every invoice shows the plan and the billing period. For billing questions or a quote for a purchase order, email hello@nextreply.io or use the contact page; existing customers can write to support@nextreply.io.

Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and stop at the end of the paid period; we don't refund partial months unless the law requires it.

A worked month for a Bengaluru dental clinic

A three-chair dental clinic in Koramangala receives about 1,100 WhatsApp messages a month. Around 650 conversations end in a booking: new check-ups, scaling, the second and third sittings of root canal treatment, braces reviews. Every booking is confirmed in the same WhatsApp chat, and the clinic sends one Diwali offer to 800 opted-in patients.

  • NextReply plan: 650 bookings fit the Pro plan (up to 1,500), at $59 a month. The receptionist, the practice manager and both dentists all log in at no extra cost.
  • Meta, booking confirmations: no template fee, because each confirmation is sent inside the chat the patient started.
  • Meta, the Diwali offer: 800 marketing templates at Meta's marketing rate.
  • Meta, service replies: free inside the 24-hour customer-service window.

The 450 conversations that did not end in a booking, such as "Do you do teeth whitening?" or "Is there parking?", do not count toward the plan at all.

Which plan suits an Indian business like yours

BusinessTypical bookings a monthSuggested plan
Single-doctor clinic, one OPD session a day200 to 400Starter
Neighbourhood salon with 4 to 5 chairs300 to 500Starter
Dental clinic with 2 to 3 chairs and RCT follow-ups400 to 900Pro
Polyclinic with several specialists900 to 1,500Pro
Salon chain, coaching institute or multi-branch clinic1,500+Business

Plan for your peak, not your average. For salons that means the wedding season and Diwali; for clinics the monsoon fever months; for coaching classes the weeks after board results.

Is it worth it? A quick way to check

Take your average booking value and ask how many extra bookings a month the plan needs to pay for itself. For a salon where an average visit is ₹1,200, Starter at $29 is covered by a handful of extra appointments a month. For a clinic with a ₹700 consultation fee, Pro at $59 is covered by under ten extra consultations. Most businesses lose more than that to messages answered too late, especially after 9pm and on Sundays.

Then add the time saved. If your receptionist spends two hours a day typing the same answers about fees, timings and directions, that time goes back to patients and clients at the desk.

Instagram and Messenger chatbot pricing: coming soon

WhatsApp is the core of every plan and it is live today. Instagram DMs, Facebook Messenger and Telegram are coming soon, and we have not announced how they will sit across the plans, so we will not guess here. On the platform side, Meta does not charge per message for Instagram or Messenger replies, but it limits business replies to 24 hours after the customer's last message. Telegram has no per-message fee, and the customer starts the chat with your bot. Until those channels launch, a WhatsApp link in your Instagram bio sends followers to the assistant that already books. Email hello@nextreply.io to hear when each one goes live, or see the channels overview.

Comparing NextReply with other WhatsApp tools in India

If you are shortlisting, compare on four things: whether AI booking is included or an add-on, whether bookings land in a real calendar, how seats are charged and whether you can keep your existing number. Our tool comparison lays these out, the broadcast-platform alternative page goes deeper on per-seat pricing, and the Meta Business AI comparison covers the free AI inside the WhatsApp Business app.

Questions people ask

What is the WhatsApp chatbot price in India for NextReply?

Plans are $29, $59 and $99 a month for up to 500, 1,500 or unlimited bookings. Prices are in US dollars; at checkout, your card or bank may show an estimate in rupees. Local taxes may apply.

Do I pay extra per agent or user?

No. There are no per-seat fees. Everyone on your team can use the same account.

Do I also pay Meta?

For some messages, yes. Meta bills template messages your business starts, such as campaigns, per message, while replies inside the 24-hour customer-service window are free. Check Meta's pricing page for current India rates.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every plan, Starter, Pro and Business, starts with a 7-day free trial. Connect WhatsApp, add your services and timings, and let the assistant book real customers before your first payment.

Is Hindi or Hinglish an extra cost?

No. Every language, including Hindi, Hinglish and regional languages, is included on all plans.

Is NextReply allowed on WhatsApp in 2026?

Yes. Meta bars general-purpose AI chatbots, not business assistants that book appointments and hand chats to staff.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. Plans are monthly, so you can move up before the wedding season or exam rush and come back down when it is over.

Do unanswered enquiries count as bookings?

No. Only appointments the assistant creates count toward your plan. Fee or timing questions that do not end in a booking are free of limits.
