A Messenger chatbot for the Philippines: coming soon

In the Philippines, the Facebook Page inbox is the front desk. Infobip's 2026 country data puts Facebook Messenger at around 95% of phone users, well ahead of Viber and WhatsApp. When someone in Quezon City wants a haircut, a dental cleaning or a weekend room in Tagaytay, they find your Page and tap "Send message". The question is what happens next, especially at 11pm, on a Sunday or during a holiday rush.

We are building a Messenger chatbot for the Philippines that works as an AI front desk for your Facebook Page, and it is coming soon. It is not live yet, and we would rather say that plainly than let you sign up expecting it. What is live today is the same AI on WhatsApp, on every plan: it answers in English or Taglish from your own prices, services and hours, checks your Google Calendar, books the slot inside the chat and hands the conversation to your team when a person is needed.

This page explains what the Messenger version will do, why it matters so much for Philippine businesses, how to get your Page ready, and what you can switch on today. If you want to hear the day Messenger launches, email hello@nextreply.io.

Why Messenger matters in the Philippines, and where WhatsApp fits today

For most local clinics, salons, spas, gyms and resorts, the honest answer is that local clients live on Messenger. They found you through a post, a group or an ad, and they expect to talk to you there. That is exactly why Messenger is on our roadmap, and why we are taking care to build it properly rather than rushing it out.

WhatsApp matters for a different group, and it works with NextReply right now: OFWs, balikbayans, foreign guests and expats, who use WhatsApp with businesses abroad and keep using it with you. A resort in Batangas answering guests from Dubai or Singapore, or a dental clinic in Makati booking a balikbayan's cleaning before their flight home, can use NextReply on WhatsApp today. When Messenger launches, local clients will book there and overseas clients on WhatsApp, with every booking in one calendar and one dashboard.

Our guide to Messenger vs Viber vs WhatsApp in the Philippines goes deeper into which app suits which clients, and the NextReply Philippines page covers what works today.

Viber is not supported, and is not on the current roadmap. If most of your clients message you on Viber, we would rather say so now.

English and Taglish, the way clients actually type

Filipino clients write short, polite and mixed: "Hi po", "available pa po?", "magkano po?", "pa-book po ng 3pm", "PM sent". NextReply already understands these messages on WhatsApp and replies in the same register, with "po" when the client uses it. The Messenger version will use the same language skills. Here is a real-style exchange as it works on WhatsApp today:

Client: "Hi po! Magkano po ang gel manicure and available pa po ba bukas ng hapon?"
NextReply: "Hi po! Ang gel manicure po ay ₱650. Bukas po, may slot ng 2:00pm at 4:30pm with Ate Joy. Alin po ang gusto ninyo?"
Client: "4:30 po. Kristine."
NextReply: "Booked na po, Kristine! Bukas, 4:30pm, gel manicure with Ate Joy. See you po!"

No booking link, no form, no "please wait for admin". The booking lands in the stylist's Google Calendar and your team gets a notification. Once Messenger launches, the same conversation will happen inside your Page inbox.

From first message to confirmed booking
  1. Customer message: “Any slot tomorrow afternoon?”
  2. AI receptionist: Reads service, date and time
  3. Checks your calendar: Offers only free slots
  4. Confirms in the chat: Name, service and time
  5. Booked: In Google Calendar, owner alerted

How the Messenger booking bot for PH businesses will work

The plan for the Messenger booking bot for PH businesses is to reuse the booking engine that already runs on WhatsApp, described on the appointment booking page. Once it is live, setup is expected to look like this:

  1. Connect your Facebook Page to NextReply.
  2. Use the business information you already loaded for WhatsApp: services with durations and peso prices, staff, hours, branches and FAQs.
  3. Keep the same Google Calendar for each staff member, room or resource, so a slot booked on one channel cannot be double-booked on the other.
  4. The AI answers Page messages, offers real free slots, collects name, service, date and time and confirms.
  5. Your team is notified of every booking and every handoff.

Steps 2 to 5 already work on WhatsApp. That is the main reason to start now: if you set up NextReply on WhatsApp today, your services, calendars and FAQs are ready the day Messenger is switched on. The full set-up is on how it works.

Facebook Page auto reply vs an AI front desk

Meta already gives every Page some free automation: instant replies, away messages and suggested FAQ buttons. Switch them on now; they are useful while you wait for AI replies on Messenger. But they only send fixed text. An instant reply that says "Thanks for messaging! We'll get back to you soon" does not tell the client the price, and an away message at 10pm effectively says "come back tomorrow".

A Facebook Page auto reply in the Philippines that actually helps needs to read the question and answer it. That is what NextReply does on WhatsApp today and what the Messenger version is being built to do: "Magkano po rebond for long hair?" gets your rebond price for long hair and the next two free slots. "Open po kayo sa Holy Week?" gets your Holy Week hours. Anything outside your FAQs, such as complaints, special requests or medical questions, goes to your staff instead of getting a guess.

A practical tip for now: add a line to your Page instant reply such as "For fast booking, message us on WhatsApp" with your WhatsApp link. Clients who prefer an instant answer can take it, and the rest wait for your team as usual.

Meta's Messenger rules: the 24-hour window

Messenger has clear messaging rules for businesses, and the Messenger version of NextReply is being designed around them:

  • 24-hour standard window. A business can reply freely within 24 hours of the client's last message. The AI will answer and book during this window, which covers almost every booking conversation.
  • Human follow-up after 24 hours. Meta allows a human agent to reply for a limited extra period using its human agent tag, so your staff can pick up handed-over chats that way.
  • No promotional blasts outside the window. Messenger is not a channel for cold follow-ups. Appointment reminders on WhatsApp are also coming soon, as opt-in template messages.

Meta's own documentation, linked below, has the details. We recommend checking it whenever Meta announces policy changes.

When the AI hands a chat to your team
  1. Unusual request: Complaint, refund or special case
  2. AI receptionist: Knows when to step back
  3. Answers from your FAQs: Services, hours and prices / Hands the chat over: Your team is notified
  4. Your team replies: Same chat, full history

Who will use an AI chatbot for a Facebook Page in the Philippines

  • Salons, nail and lash studios along Tomas Morato, in Poblacion and around Bonifacio High Street, where price questions arrive all evening.
  • Dental and medical clinics near Makati Med, St. Luke's and The Medical City, with patients asking about fees, HMO acceptance and schedules. The AI books; clinical questions go to your team.
  • Spas, gyms and studios filling classes and treatment slots.
  • Resorts and hotels answering local weekenders and foreign guests.
  • Real estate sellers handling ad leads and booking viewings.

An AI chatbot for a Facebook Page in the Philippines works best where the client's next step is a booked time: an appointment, a class, a visit or a call. If that describes your business, the WhatsApp version can start taking those bookings this week, especially from clients abroad.

Click-to-Messenger ads today: keep leads warm

Many Philippine businesses run Facebook ads that open a Messenger chat. Each of those chats cost you money, and the lead cools fast. A client who taps your ad at 9:30pm and gets no answer until 10am the next day has usually moved on to the next ad in their feed.

Until AI replies on Messenger launch, there are two good options. First, make sure someone checks the Page inbox in the evening during a campaign, and use a saved reply with your promo details. Second, test a click-to-WhatsApp version of the same ad for audiences that already use WhatsApp, such as OFW families, expats and foreign tourists. Those chats go straight to NextReply, which answers in seconds, quotes a promo such as "First facial ₱499 this month" with its conditions, and books the client. When the promo ends, remove it and the AI stops offering it.

After-hours and holiday rushes

Clients message after work, after dinner and on weekends, exactly when your admin is offline. During payday weekends, Christmas and Holy Week, volume spikes. On WhatsApp, NextReply already answers every message within seconds and fills your calendar while your team rests; Messenger will work the same way when it launches. See the after-hours replies page for how businesses use this.

WhatsApp works today; Instagram and Telegram are coming soon too

WhatsApp is live on every plan, and it is the only channel where NextReply books, reads voice notes and understands photos today. Instagram DMs, which many younger clients use after seeing your reels, and Telegram are coming soon alongside Messenger. See the Instagram AI agent, the Telegram AI bot and the full channels overview for what each one is planned to do.

How to get ready for Messenger now

  • Write down the 20 questions your Page inbox gets most, with your answers. They become your FAQs.
  • List every service with its duration and price, and set up a Google Calendar for each staff member or room.
  • Start NextReply on WhatsApp with a 7-day free trial, so those FAQs and calendars are tested on real clients.
  • Add a WhatsApp button to your Facebook Page and a WhatsApp link in your instant reply.
  • Email hello@nextreply.io and ask to be told when Messenger launches.

The Data Privacy Act and Page messages

Messages to your Page and your WhatsApp contain personal data, and health or financial details are sensitive. Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), enforced by the National Privacy Commission, your business is responsible for how you collect and use that data. Keep the AI to booking details, tell clients an assistant replies first, and move sensitive information to staff and secure channels. These rules will apply the same way on Messenger once it launches.

Pricing and the free trial

Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. After that, Starter is $29, Pro is $59 and Business is $99 a month, for up to 500, 1,500 or unlimited bookings. Prices are in US dollars. At checkout, your card or bank may show an estimate in your local currency. Local taxes may apply. WhatsApp is included on every plan today; we will publish how Messenger fits the plans when it launches. See the Philippines pricing page or explore all features.
